Ministry Overview
Outreach (1-week or 10-day trip)
The ground is largely unplowed spiritually in the area of this country where team members will be going.  From ministry to indigenous Indian tribes, to children in
the schools, to local Guatemalans, there will be an emphasis on evangelism in this trip.  Reaching out to the youth and young people is another focus.  Other
opportunities include small construction projects at one of our contact's churches, and also impacting communities that are experiencing starvation through hands-on delivery of food and building friendships as team members show the love of God in a very practical way.
Accommodations & Food
The team will be staying in a modest hotel.  You will are not required to bring a pillow, or a sleeping bag (or sheets).  During the summer months, the weather is very warm, and during the winter months, the weather is still warm, but can get cool at night; it is important to bring the corresponding sleepware and clothing.  The food is prepared by our contacts on site, and clean water is always available.
Excursions
There will be time set aside for souvenir shopping and site-seeing at the conclusion of your trip.  Team members will be going to Antigua Guatemala, a small city just outside of Guatemala City and is less than an hour from the airport.  You will be spending the night in this city in order to explore everything it has to offer in the time you are there.  Founded in 1543, "La Antigua" was once the third most important Spanish city in the Americas.  The city, built on a grid plan inspired by the Italian Renaissance, amassed a number of superb monuments in less than three centuries. Its rich colonial heritage (the town is packed with churches, monasteries, and convents), famous Easter celebrations, three surrounding volcanoes, and abundance of flowers, make it a place you will always remember visiting.

The exquisite appeal of this country comes from it’s natural beauty.  The views are breathtaking through the mountains and valleys.  The coffee produced here is shipped to 5-star restaurants in Europe.  There are volcanoes, Mayan ruins, jade, and much more to entice tourists.  Yet in all this splendor, there is much work to be done for the Kingdom of God.  There are people who are experiencing starvation, others are disillusioned by cult-like groups who call themselves Christians, and many still have not heard the Gospel.
