Mission Trips to MEXICO!

Ministry Overview
Construction
Team members will be working in various impoverished colonia's.  In these areas, also known as "lost cities," most people live in homes made of cardboard and wooden pallets. Electricity and water are frequently scarce; so are food and jobs.  It is in these areas that there exists a great physical need.  Through community development, doors are opened to share the love of God, and meet the needs of the people.  Construction projects range from light to heavy, depending on the skill of the individuals or team.
Evangelism & Children's outreach
Team members will be responsible for facilitating a VBS style of ministry for children.  The team will also work with local churches helping to evangelize the community through visitation, prayer, street-evangelism, and one-on-one evangelism.  Other ministry opportunities may include working with a group home for kids (orphanages).
Accommodations & Food
The team will be staying in dormitory-style housing.  You will be required to bring a pillow, and a sleeping bag (or sheets).  During the summer months, the weather is very warm, and during the winter months, the weather is very cold; it is important to bring the corresponding sleepware and clothing.  The food is prepared by our contacts on site, and clean water is always available.
Excursions
There will be time set aside for souvenir shopping in the downtown district.  There are plenty of options for purchases including, but not limited to, authentic Mexican blankets, ponchos, sombreros, jewelry, dolls, pure vanilla, Mexican candy and spices, leather, T-shirts and other clothing.

At one of our sites, a visit to a Tarahumara Indian compound is also a must-see.  This people-group come from the mountains regions of Chihuahua and are not considered Mexican by culture.  They are non-Spanish speaking Amerindians and are known for their incredible survival skills and colorful hand-made clothing.
Travel Information
Airfare and In-country Transportation
At Global Infusion, we are committed to taking care of as many logistical details as possible, so you, the short-term missionary, can focus on your INFUSION ADVENTURE.  We coordinate all the airline travel booking as it is included in the trip cost.  We also are responsible for the organization of all in-country transportation.  The cost of your flight is included in the total trip cost.

Passports & Visas
A valid passport is required.  If you do not have a valid passport, please click here to obtain one.  If you have traveled to Mexico in the past using only a U.S. or Canadian driver's license, security at the border has been increased since that time and a valid passport is now essential.

Vaccinations
A recent tetanus and Hepatitis A are both recommended.
Other
All other information, including what to pack, weather conditions, country history, fundraising techniques, health recommendations, and cross-cultural travel tips are all included in the INFUSION ADVENTURES manual you will receive once your application and deposit has been turned in to Global Infusion.

When most Americans think of Mexico, they think about Cancun, Acapulco, or Cozumel.  Our ministry sites in Mexico bring us to reach people who are in dire need physically and spiritually.  Some have the mindset that getting to America will solve all of their problems.  Our goal is to tell them, and show them, that only Jesus can meet all of their needs, and provide true freedom.  This is a great missions experience for all ages.  Families are also welcome.
